As I write this post from my easy chair to my lovely and talented wife's right, this is post one of Passionate Pursuits and I am very happy that you are joining me for this new and joyful adventure in my life.
It could not be a better time for me or my family, and there are a great many reasons for this.
Soon, I will be celebrating my 62nd birthday, and I am still working hard at a career in which I have invested most of the last 33 years trying to keep my family supported, the community safe, and my God glorified. Soon, I will be retired from government service but this is, by no means, the end of road.
As long as we consume resources on this side of the grass, it is never the end of the road and that's what Passionate Pursuits is about.
I won't go into what I have been doing for work too much these past 33 years, but suffice it to say it has been a great adventure. Often emotionally draining and negative, even dangerous, it's definitely a period of my life I have learned from and will help others with in my next life. No, I don't mean Heaven, either.
This being Independence Day seems like a good time to point out that there is a hope and a future for me, for you, and for all of us as we seek out Passionate Pursuits in the Year of Coronavirus, 2020.
I mentioned that this was a great time for me and my family. Soon, I will be closing on a beautiful home in the mountains, and escaping the busy-ness of Tampa Bay's crowds and traffic. My family on the east coast, as well as my son and daughter in law will have a lovely day trip to see us whenever they like. I highly recommend, time for slowing down and refocusing on what's truly important once you have left pursuit of a paycheck behind for pursuit of a passionate goal or meaning in your life.
This blog is Step 1 for me. Small, but significant. I hope you'll continue along. I have several months of work to go, but there is much to discuss.
Until next time!
Let's talk about it on Facebook
